Sound Patterns was commissioned by the Lin Ensemble through a grant from the Danish Art Council. The piece consists of a single movement with many dinstinct rhythmic, harmonic and melodic patterns. These patterns are sharply deliniated, like the brightly colored patterns of a Mondrian painting. The work has been performed extensively by the Lin Ensemble in Europe, South America and Japan.
