Instrumentation: 2 sopranos, 2 mezzo-sopranos, 2 altos, 2 tenors, 2 barytones, 2 basses, flute, oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet (solo), 2 percussionists, keyboard<\/p>\n

Northern Voice was written for the Ars Nova choir and premiered at a concert at the Glyptotek Museum in Copenhagen in 1984. There is no text in the work; the syllables sung by the singers are chosen for their timbral quality and the choir functions as an integrated part of the instrumental ensemble. The work includes a trumpet solo.<\/p>\n
